World-Class West Coast Adventure Thanks to Bamfield Sportfishing

Hey everyone ... if you're looking for an "off-the-charts" fishing adventure, you've gotta check out Bamfield Sportfishing at www.Bamfieldsportfishing.com. I owe Heather a huge thanks for letting me slip away for a few days of saltwater fishing with my dad - what a fantastic trip it was! I can't say enough good things about owner/guide Ian Macdonald. From the cabin accomodations to the equipment, and Ian's knowledge/skill, the service he provides is second to none. We fished almost 30 miles off shore with 2 metre swells the first day; a new experience for this flatlander as the boat disappeared behind each rolling wave, but day two calmed down considerably. Yesterday was a barn burner ... I lost count of the total number of fish we caught and released, but we came home with a full count of Chinook (smallest yesterday was 19.5 lbs!) , Coho, and Halibut. We even caught a bunch of Sea Bass, Rock Cod and Ling Cod. Seriously ... if you want to experience some the best salwater angling off Vancouver Island, don't wait another day - give Ian a call at 250.728.3474. Bamfield is a quaint fishing village best described as yet unspoiled. The fishing is out of this world and you will thoroughly enjoy the hospitality and ambiance as well.

What a great bonding experience for me and my dad!

Fried up a Rock Cod the first evening ... they taste great!

Sea Lion, seal, and Humpback whale sightings were common throughout our trip.

Bamfield is an active fishing village and home of the renowned Bamfield Marine Research Centre. At least half of the population lives across the bay where there is no road access. The only way you can get there is by boat; indeed west coast culture at its finest!
